A couple weekends ago, we headed up to Alden for Egg Days. I'm not sure why they call it Egg Days since I've never seen an actual egg at the town celebration, but it's a fun day with parades, food & bouncy houses in the park and fireworks at night. Although...a few short years ago - the only thing I remember it being about was beer at the bar! Oh...how life has changed!
We met at Aunt Deb's house in the morning and made our way down to the church for the start of the parade. Nick drove the gator while Sandy & I had to walk all the way across town {7 blocks!!} to the church.
We had a group of friends & family that we watched the parade with. Every time we get together with them, it's so much fun to watch the kiddos play together! Of course, being the over packer that I am - I brought a blanket, toys and plenty of snacks for the kids to enjoy!
Easton wasn't a big fan of the grapes!
Kimber and Gramma watched the parade together. She even had some of the parade candy!! Next year, she'll probably be running out in the middle of the road gathering up her own candy!!
After the parade, we made our way to the park for lunch and play time. Kimber spent most of the time in her wagon being pulled around while the older kids played in the bouncy houses.
As I watched other kids throwing tantrums, I had a foreshadowing of what our years to come will look like at Egg Days. Overtired kids wanting to jump on the bouncy houses and crying when it's time to go home. Luckily this year, Kimber fell asleep easily in her stroller while we were watching the water fights.
After we left the park, we went to Henry's first birthday party and then back to Aunt Deb's to watch the fireworks. By the time the fireworks started, Kimber was exhausted and had fallen asleep and she slept thru the fireworks!
