Our Christmas Card 2015

We had our family pictures taken in September {before harvest started and I could actually get Nick to show up} - so I had plenty of time to look at Christmas card designs.

Since we had picture taken at the farm, I knew I wanted to go with a rustic feel with the card. I searched all the typical card sites and loved the Rustic Monogram design I found on Snapfish. I mean, what's more rustic than wood, right? Plus, it has the name rustic in the name.

I typically like one big picture on the front of the card, but since I had so many great pictures of Kimber's big smile - I had to go with multiple pictures on the front of the card. Seriously, that smile melts my heart!!

The front of the card:
{Even Jayde made the card this year!!}

The back of the card:

 I'm really happy how the cards turned out!

Christmas 2014: Our Little Family Christmas

Since we were not home on Christmas morning, we had our little family Christmas the morning after Christmas. Santa brought gifts, Kimber opened gifts from Mom & Dad and Nick & I opened our gifts from Kimber and each other.

I tried to get a video of Kimber coming around the corner and seeing her gifts for the first time, but she was a growly bear and the only thing she cared about was snuggling in the chair and drinking her sippy of milk. This girl loves her morning routine!

{I kindof went overboard on the pictures of Kimber's gifts}

After she finished her milk, she was ready to open her gifts!!
Santa brought her a play kitchen and we got her a shopping cart, pots & pans and food. She played with it all morning and loves to push her new baby doll around in the shopping cart!

Kimber bought me boots that I had been eyeing for awhile, but unfortunately, they are a size to small and I can't find a bigger size anywhere! As much as I love them, it doesn't make sense to keep them. Nick said he already knows what he's getting me next year...in a bigger size!

Christmas 2014: Christmas Night

After we left the nursing home on Christmas Day, we drove straight to Nick's mom's side for Christmas. The ride was nice & quiet since Kimber slept most of the way {since she didn't sleep the night before!!}. We got to our holiday celebration just in time to open gifts.

Kimber opened her Olaf doll and the first thing she did was stick the carrot in her mouth! She loves carrots and I think she was disappointed that it wasn't real!!

Kimber got a bitty baby, her first American Girl Doll!! I will probably go poor in the future buying accessories for it!

Abey got all things farm. Trucks. Tractors.

And Chloe got all things 'Frozen'.

These two crack me up! They are so close in age, that they fight a lot.
But they can be so sweet to each other, too!

I wanted to snap a couple of pictures of Gramma & Papa with the grandkids since we never get their pictures taken together. Kimber was over having her pictures taken at this point, she wouldn't smile for the camera at all!

Nick & I were exhausted from not getting much sleep the night before, so we called it an early night. Plus, we knew we had to get home since Santa was coming to our house the next morning!! And he had to still put some together!!

Christmas 2014: Christmas Morning

Kimber is not a good sleeper in general. But traveling with her is complete and utter torture. Not only does she not sleep through the night, but if she wakes up in the middle of the night and we're not at home - it takes her HOURS to call back to sleep. She fell asleep on the way home from candlelight service at 10:00pm and slept until 2:30am. From 2:30-4:30am, we tried everything we could to get her to fall back to sleep and nothing worked. Finally, she fell asleep from pure exhaustion from crying and slept until 8:00am.

After the world's worst night of sleep, we discovered Santa Claus had filled the stockings and brought gifts!! I love stockings. At age 37, it's still one of my favorite traditions. The stocking always has to have an orange in it. Always. One year, Santa forgot and left them in the refrigerator!! I pointed this out to Dad and luckily he found them!

Santa ate a couple bites of the cookies, but left enough for Kimber to enjoy some for breakfast.

Time to open gifts!!
Since we were traveling for the holidays, we told Santa to leave the big gifts at our house which meant, Kimber didn't have a Santa gift to open on Christmas morning(besides her stocking). She did have gifts from family and small gifts from Mommy & Daddy.

Franny's girls waited patiently to open their gifts while Kimber opened hers first.

After we opened gifts, we played with the toys, ate breakfast and drank a lot of coffee! Then we got ready to head out. Before we went home, we stopped by the nursing home to see Great Gramma & Grampa Schuler and give them their gifts. It was great to see them since we only get to see them a handful of times a year.

These pictures of Kimber drinking her sippy crack me up. She ALWAYS has to hold our ear while she's drinking out of her sippy cup. Not her own ear, but the ear of the person holding her. It must be a comfort thing for her? Sometimes in half way thru drinking her cup, she'll reach over to the other ear and feel it - just to make sure it's there - and go back to holding onto the ear closest to her. Silly girl.
