San Diego Family Pictures

Two weeks before we left on vacation, I decided I wanted to have family beach pictures taken during sunset. After researching photographers, I found Zoetic Photography and fell in love with their work! I contacted Lindsey & Chad and they had an opening the week we were going to be in San Diego. They were GREAT to work with and I highly recommend them to anyone getting newborn/family pictures in the San Diego area.

They told me it would be two weeks before I would have the pictures back, so when I received an email from them today I was so excited! And nervous. I said a little prayer to myself, that I would at least like one picture and I wouldn't be too harsh on myself & think I looked fat in every picture. But when I opened the file, tears came to my eyes. I was SO happy with the pictures and can't wait to print them out!!!

And finally it was time for her smash cake pictures!!!

 

Kimber is a clean eater for the most part, so she didn't get too messy with her smash cake. But she had fun playing with it!!

I changed Kimber into her bee-day outfit for the next pictures!!

 

Again, she wasn't super excited to get her pictures taken. She didn't smile for the pictures or even look at the camera, but she had fun playing {and eating} the dandelions!

You can see from the first picture...Kimber was not loving the photo session. BUT I kinda love this picture - HA! I had to bribe her with puffs to get her to sit {and not cry} for the pictures.

 

 

 Caleb also found this wood fence less than a mile from our house and it was such a cute spot to take pictures. I really wish Nick would have been there for these pictures - they would have been cute family pictures! But I'm glad to have pictures of just Kimber & I together since I'm usually the one behind the camera and not in pictures with her.

 

 

Kimber's 12 month pictures {part 1}

So once again, I'm a couple months late at posting Kimber's pictures on the blog.

 

Kimber's 12 month pictures were taken in May. It was a hot & humid day. Nick was in the fields planting, so he couldn't be there. And for the most part, Kimber wanted nothing to do with the pictures. Especially the outdoor pictures. She cried/whined most of the time and we didn't get very many smiles out of her. I was a sweaty mess carrying her around and trying to get her to smile, so my hair looks gross in most of the pictures.

 

When I first got the pictures back...I didn't love them. All I saw was no smiles from Kimber, my gross hair and my fat arms. But three month later, when I look at them, I love them. I love that I'll always have these pictures of me & my baby girl together. It doesn't matter if they aren't 'Pinterest perfect'. They tell a story of Kimber at this stage of her life...and so they are perfect to me!

I found this dress at Target and fell in love with it! I knew it would be perfect for spring pictures.  Her headband from the same etsy shop I bought her headband for her 9 month pictures - it's so adorable! And I found the chair thru a little shop in Ankeny that refinishes furniture. She matched the aqua in Kimber's headband perfectly! It also matches the colors in her bedroom, so I plan on putting it in her room with a little table for a coloring/reading nook.

 

I wanted outdoor pictures with lots of flowers, but unfortunately it was a cold spring and there weren't many flowers in bloom yet. But Caleb found this wooded area behind our house and it worked perfectly for pictures!

 

 

This is my favorite picture from this first batch of pictures! I love her smile!!
