Goodies from Punta Cana

 

I was going thru pictures on my 'fancy' camera and forgot I had taken these a couple months ago!

 

Kimber received her first souvenirs from trips that Gramma & Papa and Mom & Dad took to Punta Cana earlier this year.

 

Gramma & Papa brought her back an adorable dress and we brought her back maracas. I'm not sure how much she's actually going to wear it/play with them, but I wanted to get a couple pictures of her with them.

 

 

And since I only took a handful of pictures from our trip to Punta Cana - I thought I'd throw them on here. We love Punta Cana and can't wait to go back! Next time, we plan to go as a family and take Kimber with us!

 

I usually take a TON of pictures when I am on vacation. But this time was different. I wanted to relax and have a great time with Nick. I didn't want to worry about carrying my camera around with me the entire time. I left it in our room most of the time, so these are the few pictures that I have from the trip.

 

We had a great vacation. I might leave my camera at home more often!

 

 

Here Kitty, Kitty

Gramma & Papa have baby kitties at their house and Kimber was able to hold them last weekend. She was so excited to play with the kitties, but I'm not sure if the feelings were mutual!!

 

They were a little scared when she was holding them. But she did good using soft touches with them. Kimber used to hit & pinch, but Nick & I and our daycare provider have been working with her to use soft touches and it seems to be working. 

 

 She may have just squeezed it a little tight when she was holding it!

Big Girl on the Slide!

We bought Kimber a slide as a birthday gift, but I didn't think about the ladder and how she wouldn't be able to climb up it.  My daycare provider has a slide with steps  {instead of a ladder} and Kimber loves to crawl up it and slide down herself. So I set out on an internet search for a similar slide. I came across a listing on craigslist with several toys and found the perfect slide!!

 

Nick & I headed to Des Moines on Sunday afternoon to pick it up and it's been a hit with Kimber! I wasn't sure if she'd be able to climb up the steps since they were different than the one she was used to, but she got up the first time she tried!

 

Sometimes she gets so excited to get up the steps and tries to go too fast. Which makes her feet slip and she can't make it up herself. And then leads to a tantrum and she throws herself on the ground. After calming her down, we help her up the steps and she's excited to slide down the other side!

 

I think we'll get lots of use out of this craigslist find!

 

 

 

Kimber's 9 month pictures {part 3}

If you know me, you know I've never been pink person. But when I found this dress - I knew I had to use it for Kimber's 9 month pictures. And I love how the bright pink pops in the pictures!!

 

At this point, Kimber was done getting her picture taken. She was tired of us coaching her to smile, tired of getting her clothes changed and just plain tired since it was almost her naptime. We didn't get too many more smiles out of her.  But I still think she looks adorable in the pictures!

 

I'm usually the one taking pictures, so I don't have too many picture of me & my baby girl. {Well, maybe lots of selfies with her - but those don't count!} So I love when I am able to get professional pictures taken with just me & her!
